Self-awareness is really a problem which affects almost everyone, no matter how high of an IQ you may have. The problem is that many people just don’t recognize that they are aware they are aware because it feels like a burden. And it really isn’t. The only reason I know I’m aware I’m aware is because I’ve taken the time to sit down and think about my thoughts and actions and I can honestly say that I know I am aware.
Thats exactly the problem with most people. How can you tell if youre aware? You can tell if youre aware of your thoughts because you can tell if youre aware of your actions because you can tell if youre aware of your surroundings because you can tell if youre aware of your surroundings because you have self awareness.
So if I say I know I am aware I can most certainly be told that I am aware. But if I know Ire aware I can hardly be said to be aware. It is only awareness that would be enough to give me the ability to know.
I have a theory of reality, which is that it is impossible to know without seeing. I think we can’t really know if you know if your thoughts are aware of yourself, and if you know if they are aware of you. We also don’t know your thoughts if they are aware of you. If you don’t know if they are aware of you, then you don’t know if they are aware of you.
Some people believe that if you dont know if they think of something, then you dont know if they are aware of you. This is silly. If you think you know something, that is all that is required to give you awareness.
There are two types of awareness: explicit awareness (awareness of what you do and how you think) and implicit awareness (awareness of what your mind is doing). The first type is a higher level of awareness that can be derived from mental exercises like meditation and prayer. The second type is a lower level of awareness that can be derived from having your thoughts read out loud and what your mind sees as the result. We are talking about the latter here, the implicit awareness.
The reason you might be having an awareness that you’re not aware of is that you’re not aware of what you think. The reason you might be having an awareness that you’re aware of it is that you’re not aware of what you feel.
Sometimes we don’t realize we believe what we think. For example, I’m a big believer in the idea that you should be aware of your emotions. A lot of us are aware that we’re feeling sad. We may not know why we’re feeling sad. But the way we know it is that we’re feeling sad.
When I say “we’re aware of our emotions,” I don’t mean we’re aware of them only when we’re in a state of extreme pain or extreme pleasure or extreme anger. I mean awareness of our emotions. So if you are feeling sad and you have a bad feeling about something, you can say, “I feel sad.” You dont have to feel sad.
