There is an entire science that studies how our brains are wired. The neuroscientist, Dr. Gordon Gallup, has spent his career studying the brain and how it works and what it makes us do versus what we do for a living. Dr. Gallup has a new book out that delves into the science behind our thoughts and behaviors.
I would think that one of the most interesting studies would be to find out what the thoughts and behaviors of the people who think compulsively are. That is, are they the ones that tend to think or do compulsively? I think it would be interesting to explore that, as well as the implications of how the compulsives are using their brains.
I’m not sure if this is going to turn out to be something that we can do to solve our own problems, or if it’s going to be something so profound that we’ll never have a clue why we’re doing something compulsively or what the purpose is in doing it. One of the interesting things about our research is that the people who think compulsively are the same people who actually do, so we’re going to need to make the right connections.
It’s a bit of a strange one, as compulsives are considered very lazy and don’t really care for “fun” activities like gaming. The only way we could get into our research was when it seemed that the compulsives didn’t mind playing video games and doing all kinds of interesting things. But like most of the other research, we were able to learn a lot from our fieldwork.
One reason why we thought that we were seeing a lot of compulsives is because they all seem to be involved in video games. They like to think that video games are a form of play, but that is not actually the case. Video games are more like a meditation. Many people aren’t aware that their video games are actually hurting their mood.
You can blame video games for a lot of the problems people have. There are a lot of games that I think are terrible, and there are a lot more that are just plain bad. But in general, the general principle is that video games can lead to depression. In other words, video games can make you feel depressed when you use them for the wrong reasons, or when you’re not in a mood to play them at all.
